I am the kind of person that wants to celebrate.. every. single. holiday. So, what better excuse than Valentine’s Day to get my Little Lew something he will love!?
I have composed a list of all things toddler! Some are favorites of my little guy (and by little guy, I really mean Justin..) while others are on my list to review. Also, I feel that I should mention that this is a list of items that will actually interest your tot. That is why you will find no clothes or practicality (well some are learning toys), it’s really just fun!
So here you go!
One. Squigz were supposedly the hottest toddler gift for Christmas 2016 according to my MOL, and I don’t know if that’s true or not, but Lew does sure enjoy them! They are little suction cup toys, that can stand alone or be sucked together to make longer structures. These make the perfect bath toy, which is great because Lewi loves baths! There are not holes in any part of the toy, so there will be no Sophie the Giraffe incidents! ๐
Two. Pipsqueak was picked out by Mr. Lew, himself, the week of his first birthday! He LOVES her, so, so much. She is a little fox with a recording device placed in her tummy, that when pressed repeats what your toddler says! And, as her name suggests, all of her playbacks are in a high-pitched sqeak-y voice.. so cute!
Three. The Melissa & Doug Stacking Train (18 pc.) set reminds me of a nostalgic train set my dad would have had as a toddler back in the 70s. It’s wooden and has no modern appeal to it. Your little one can fit which ever pieces they choose together to connect as much or as little of the train as they’d like. Lew doesn’t ever leave any of it connected. ๐ He’s too busy inspecting every nook and cranny!
Four. The movie Zootopia is played in our house at least once a day. Many times it is more than that, but it’s Lewi’s favorite movie… I’m actually embarrassed to admit that he can “quote” some words.. I guess anyone really CAN be (or in my case say), “ANYTHING.” ๐
Five. I don’t know what I would do with my life if I wasn’t picking up Mega Bloks all day long! These are every little boy’s (and dad’s) dream toy. Bloks!? What? Where? Everywhere.. that’s where.
Six. Skoolzy are on my list of products to purchase and review. My sister-in-law is almost a fully certified Occupational Therapist and these were a highly recommended tool for building motor skills! I will be ordering these soon.
Seven. Gears! Gears! Gears! The name has me nervous that these little pieces will just replace my Mega Bloks in every inch of my apartment, but they do look super fun for Justin, I mean Lewi! ๐
Eight. The Melissa & Doug Shapes Chunky Puzzle is great for teaching shapes! Lew caught on way faster than I had initially anticipated, and that made Mama proud! Now we just need to work on the color names.. I wholeheartedly recommend this shapes puzzle.
Nine A & Nine B. As I mentioned before in an earlier post, Lewi loves his Scentsy Buddies! They are soft and adorable, and you get to pick out the scent packs. They actually leave his entire crib smelling so good! I linked two separate websites I found them on!
Ten. The Secret Life of Pets is hilarious! We just recently rented it and have decided to add it to our collection of kid’s movies. It will be a good rotation break from Zootopia. ๐
Eleven. Dust! Sweep! Mop! Of course this is another toy from Melissa & Doug because let’s face it, they are the best! Lewi is obsessed with our Swiffer sweeper and I know that this would be the perfect gift for him! This is actually gift we are getting him from this list. (I’ll keep you updated on his approval.)
Twelve. Lewi got the Melissa & Doug Deluxe Pounding Bench for his first birthday, and he likes it.. a lot. The only problem is that sometimes he uses the mallet on other toys.. or Mom.. we’re working on it.
Thirteen. I was told that we had to see the movie Storks. So, given that recommendation, we purchased the movie without previewing it first, but we weren’t disappointed! I love Andy Samberg.. so really I was sold with that. And I cry every. single. time. it. ENDS.. I’ve become such a soft person.. Oh, and Lewi likes it too.. I think. ๐
Fourteen. If you followed me on social media during the first year of Lewi’s life, you’d have seen this Plush 53″ Bear before. I apologize that I couldn’t link it to the Costco website directly, but that’s where it was purchased! This thing is huge.. but my Lew has loved it since he was able to start loving. He currently tries to ride it.. such a weirdo..
Fifteen. This Brilliant Basics Corn Popper from Fisher-Price is a toy that I remember having as a child! Therefore, when my mom showed up with a brand new version for Lewi last weekend, I was very pleasantly surprised! Lewi is still getting the mechanics of it down.. It took him a little while to realize you don’t have to pick it up and bang it on the ground to make the popping noise.. haha he is a handful sometimes, but I wouldn’t trade him for the world.
Well, that is my list of toys for toddlers for this 2017 Valentine’s Day. I hope you enjoyed it!
Are there any toys or movies not on this list that your toddler just LOVES? Tell me about them in the comments, so I can check them out!! Happy Hump Day!
