I love so many things about living in this state, but none of those things include this annoying wishy-washy weather between winter and spring! Like, don’t get me wrong. I love season change, but only if the season is changing to summer, fall, or winter. (Confession, spring is my least favorite season.)
Spring isn’t really the most beautiful season in North Dakota. It takes until the end of April to be warm enough to not need to wear a jacket, and that’s only if we’re lucky! I have witnessed a couple snow-falls in the month of May here.
I wish I lived in a warm state just for this time of year, so I could experience the beautiful smells of freshly blooming flowers and trees! Instead, I smell all the things that don’t exactly scream spring, but that’s enough depression for a day.
On a positive note, you don’t have to put your UGGs away just yet! I purchased this pair this winter season and I LOVE that they are booties! It makes them easier to style for warmer days (as shown above). I really like the pairing of joggers and boots as demonstrated in this comfy ensemble.
Buying UGGs is difficult sometimes because there are SO many styles and colors to choose from!
For me, up until this purchase I’ve been harboring a sparkly mid-rise style that I’ve been too attached to sell. I have had that pair for 3+ years and it’s really time to say goodbye. (Psst… they don’t even fit anymore, thanks to pregnancy.)
Anyway, after doing a little research and Pinterest-ing a bunch of outfits.. I decided to go with this style (Classic Mini II). Funnily, I ordered my pair from the Victoria’s Secret website because… Angel card perks.. Anyway, I linked that UGG homepage to the picture because who would even know that Victoria’s Secret sold UGGs!? I think it’s a great way of getting your cake and eating it too, that is as long as you’re a card holder! They are currently sold out of the style I have on that site, but you can get those exact booties in the other link I posted.
As for color, I am really pleased with the cognac option. It’s a great light brown that really goes with every other color. Talk about a winter neutral! I actually am really looking forward to styling these cuties next fall. I just really like the little bit of shin that sees-through the part between the pant and the boot top…
The rest of this outfit is so cozy and effortless, which is so perfect for running errands or making that Sunday trip to Costco.
Pairing a lightweight sweater with sweat pants doesn’t sound like a fashion statement, but as soon as you tuck the front (and only the front) of your sweater in you add that cool factor. In other words, you look like you know your stuff. Add some boy-inspired sunnies (these are actually J’s), a beanie, and a sleek black tumbler and you have a finished look.
One bit of sass I added to my look was this opal necklace with a diamond halo set in white gold. I got this as a gift for my 22nd birthday from J. He did a great job. Of course the necklace is no longer available so I linked some similar styles. I thought it was a nice finishing touch for this cool girl look.
Are you utilizing this UGG weather? What is your favorite UGG style?
