Hello, Lovely!
It’s Monday, and what a Monday it is. I think it’s one of those days that pants are not required.
Sleep last night was pretty nonexistent. J had to leave early this morning for the week (again) to work down in South Dakota. Lewi decided to wake up two hours earlier than normal, so I got absolutely NOTHING done this morning.
I did get to clean the carpet in a couple spots due to an unfortunate incident done by a toddler and a bottle of body soap. Then, I got to give said toddler a bath while I was cleaning the carpet, and a minute or two later came to find him cuddling his towel in the bath tub. (I had the bathroom door open and was only four feet away, I don’t leave my child alone in the bath.)
Luckily, it’s Crockpot day! Meaning, I prepared lunch and supper last night and threw it in the Crockpot to marinade all day long. Yay! No meal prep.
Today, I want to share a fun experience we had earlier this month with you!
On July 6, 2017, we took Lewi to his first Movie Theater film. We were nervous that he may get antsy, as toddlers do, especially since he’d never been to this place before and he is quite the explorer! He was so good, and he sat through the entire film. He only stirred in his seat for more popcorn and slush. (We decided not to care about sugar for this experience.)
I think when his dad showed him the extra large tub of popcorn we would be sharing his eyes grew three sizes! If there is anything my boy loves, it’s popcorn. And we all know that Movie Theater popcorn is much better than the stuff you make at home! Maybe that’s just my opinion, but I doubt it.
He munched that popcorn throughout the entire movie, and slurped that blue slush to his little heart’s desire. It was the sweetest thing to witness. His smile never left his face, and I will treasure the memory forever.
The movie we saw was, Despicable Me 3, and it was so cute! Lewi loves the Despicable Me movies (with the exception of the Minions movie), so we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to bring him.
Something I was worrying about happening was his excitement. I didn’t want him to scream or yell and interrupt the movie time of anybody else. When the Universal Studios theme song started to sound, Lewi started to sing “Ba ba ba baaaah,” to the melody. I smiled nervously at Justin. We were both hoping nobody would notice. It was silly. I shouldn’t have worried so much because he was great the rest of the movie.
He made noises of joy and excitement every so often, but it was nothing shy of adorable. The couple sitting next to us didn’t seem to be bothered. I settled down and enjoyed the rest of the movie with my boys. It was a fun and new way for us to bond. I’m so happy we could include Lewi!
I don’t think we will be seeing another movie in the theaters anytime soon, but I’m sure glad we had a good first experience with our Little Lew.
I hope you have a great week!
xo, Tay
