Hello [rein]deer!
Too soon? Too bad!
The cheery season of Christmas is in full swing here at the Magee house. I couldn’t be more pleased! The decorations went up early last week, and the tree followed on Friday.
If there is anything I’ve realized from our recent move, it’s that I don’t nearly have as much seasonal decor as I had previously thought. Darn! Just going to have to buy some more.
It’s been forever since I created a gift guide, and let me tell you… It took all day yesterday just to familiarize myself with Photoshop. I hope this gift guide was well worth it because I’m bringing you two more in the following days for the coming holiday festivities! I made sure I procrastinated just enough to bring these to you the week of Black Friday. Yay!
Now, I know what you’re thinking. This guide is supposedly for the “midwest” girl. But, I wouldn’t dwell too much about it. It’s more like a dedication to my fellow midwest lady. The girl that – like me – also has the luxury of walking out of her warm home in the winter just to get slapped in the face with the sting of the brisk, chilly wind. The girl that tries to hop into her warm auto-started vehicle before the snot freezes to the inside of her nose. And this girl knows that if she tries to run to her vehicle too fast she will most definitely slip on the icy sidewalk and land on her rear. This guide was created with that girl in mind. This guide was created for all girls like me.
What does a girl look forward to most in the winter? Well, some girls like to stay home all day and watch Hallmark movies – no judgement here, in this 25th week of pregnancy nothing sounds better to me. Some girls like to get ready and spend the day on the town with girlfriends – or if you’re me, their mom. (Really though, who doesn’t like to spend the day with their mom!?) Other girls like to have a little of both worlds, and only go out when there’s beer and good eats – man I miss beer. Luckily this list has a little of everything for every kind of girl. (But, mostly for you lazy girls that appreciate a cozy lifestyle.)

This guide would make the perfect list for any boyfriends, husbands, parents, or even grandparents that keep asking you what you want for Christmas!
Lucky for me, my birthday falls on Thanksgiving this year and most of these items are on both my birthday and Christmas lists.
I included a couple of my personal favorites I highly recommend to readers. One being my favorite scent by Miss Dior. I have mentioned it time and time again, I love Miss Dior parfums. There are currently three different scents and I love them all! I really love the Absolutely Blooming scent, so that is the one I included.
I also LOVE Stila’s Stay All Day liquid lipsticks(sale $13). I included my favorite shades of the moment – Forza, Caramello, and Sonata. This may sound so weird, but it smells so damn good! It also lasts all day just as the name suggests and has a smooth flat finish. Any of these lipsticks would be the perfect add-on to round off a gift for any lady in your life!
I also decided to throw in my favorite boots of the season by Sorel (the wedge booties [retail $200]) and the ones on my personal wish list (the hiker style boot [retail $140]).
I feel like another item worth mentioning is this faux fur vest. It is the absolute best fur vest I have ever tried on and will be mine by the end of the season. The lining is a soft sweatshirt-like material that drapes right along your body. It doesn’t feel heavy, and it wears very nicely.
The last item I am going to mention is this Michael Kors cross-body satchel (sale $130). It is on major sale thanks to Nordstrom Rack and is so classic and timeless. It would make a great staple to any handbag collection, and for the price is so worth it!
Maybe you’re Black Friday shopping for yourself. And to you, girl, I say TREAT YO’ SELF to all the goodness.
Until tomorrow, when we discuss the men —
xo
