Hello, lovelies!
I hope you’re all having a fabulous Monday. This is my Thursday of the week and I couldn’t be more excited about it!
Tomorrow is my Friday and I get to be pampered with a fresh new hair color and cut. Make sure to follow my instastories (@thatndgirl) and snapchat (@thatnodakgirl) to catch a glimpse of the much anticipated makeover!
Most people find a hairstyle that suits them well, and make only maintenance appointments to keep their signature look. I don’t think, by this point, that I even have a signature haircut/style! I change my hair up so much and have so much fun with every style I try. To me, it’s just hair. It grows back. Believe me, I’ve grown out a Miley pixie, and am currently working on the growth of the undercut that graced my head from July of 2015 to October of 2016. I can’t wait for it to all be the same length again!
Anyway, tomorrow is my Friday because Wednesday is the first day of our Fourth of July vacation to the lake cabin! I’m so excited to start the morning with a quick check-up appointment to listen to the baby’s heartbeat and schedule our big ultrasound. Right from the appointment we (Lewi and I) take off with my mother-in-law to cross the Red River and head straight to the cabin. This is the part of summer I look most forward to. We get to spend Wednesday to next Tuesday with our Magee family and enjoy the setting of the quaint lake as our backdrop. Pontoon rides, paddle boarding, paddle boating, and all the other shenanigans we find ourselves in when we’re with family!
So, that’s what’s to come for our following week, but let’s get to today’s post!
I posted an outfit to Instagram last week and decided to share the details with you today.
First off, let’s just talk about gingham.
No longer are the days that we only refer to the pattern in describing Dorothy’s dress from the Wizard of Oz! This pattern is a hot trend of the summer and can be found everywhere.
dress: Express(soldout) · similar | shoes: ShoeDazzle | fedora: similar | earrings: Target | bracelet: similar
This particular dress was purchased to wear to my sister’s high school graduation ceremony back in May, but I love this dress for any given summer day. My gingham dress was the base in coordinating my little family’s outfits for that occasion, but because it’s proven to be so popular in not only women’s — but also men’s fashion — my dad showed up in matching dress shirt to our little Lew! I guess my mom has good taste. 🙂
I’d been on the search for a good gingham style that could be worn comfortably, and still be dressy enough to wear out on date night. This dress definitely delivers! It has adjustable straps, pockets, and showcases the baby bump in the best ways!
I paired the navy gingham pattern with my favorite color of the season, turquoise!
Lewi got to sneak into a couple shots, he was pretty pumped. Look at that sweet face!
What are your favorite patterns this summer? Let me know in the comments!
