(This post is in collaboration with Pink Blush, but all thoughts and words are my own.)
Happy Monday, Lovely!
I hope you had a fantastic weekend.
We celebrated Lewi’s third birthday with our closest friends and family on Saturday and had a nice easy-going Sunday to finish the weekend! (I can’t believe he will be three years old this week. I am going to have a mental breakdown!)
Today, I am super excited to be sharing one of my favorite styles of the year with you!
I have been really patient with my self-image this year, and I have found it to be so good for my soul. There is no need to bring myself down, when it is only I that controls my thoughts, words, and emotions. (That last one isn’t completely in my control these days, thanks to pregnancy hormones!)
I started a self-love journey this Spring. I decided I was going to confident and happy with myself no matter what was going on around me. First I found happiness in health. I was working out regularly and it was really boosting my confidence!
I found lots of summer activities to keep myself busy and in good spirits, so that I focused less on negativities – like weight or other silly qualities that don’t define the person I am.
What ever it was, I was making the best of my emotions and self-worth. These small activities really gave my the confidence I needed to wear whatever I wanted. Seriously. I did that. This is how I found a new love for bodycon styled dresses!
The activity continued until I felt sluggish, fatigued, and sick. Tada! The reason for the halt in my energy was — PREGNANCY!
Sick as a dog, I was only able to lay stick straight on the couch for about six weeks every morning to mid-afternoon. Luckily, this phase is running thin and I am really starting to feel better!
However, even though my activity level dropped right from the sky, my confidence has still been in the upper region. I have to try harder some days, but I have found love for myself in some form almost every day. Sometimes we just have to tell ourselves we’re going to be happy today, and just go with it.
Surprisingly, I have continued to love the way I look and feel in bodycon dresses even though I’ve had to take a break from working out. I wear my bodycon styles repeatedly throughout the week because they are so easy to throw on and look so put together without much effort. I especially love this one I recently found from Pink Blush. It’s the perfect color of burgundy for Fall. And I love that the sleeves are three-quarter, making it so easy to wear alone or layered under a cute cardigan. I purchased this cardi last Fall, and it is definitely going to get more use this year!
The bodycon silhouette is timeless. The elasticity of the fabric will make it easy to wear again without a bump. This dress will be such an easy style to wear again next year, and that’s all we really want – right? Styles we can wear over and over again, so we don’t have to re-vamp our entire closet every single season! It’s so much better (and less expensive) to find your closet staples. This dress is a definite closet staple!
