Happy Thursday! Holy, it’s Thursday!?
This has definitely been an odd week. First off, it felt like Thursday on Tuesday.. I couldn’t remember what day it was yesterday, and today doesn’t feel like Thursday yet! I don’t understand how that works, but I guess that’s what happens when you’re a stay-at-home mom.
Daylight shines in through the windows, so you automatically think it’s warm enough to eat breakfast on the patio. By the time you walk outside you remember that it’s still March and only 38 degrees at 9:00 a.m.. Well, that was depressing.
Yesterday was spent at the park until Lewi decided he was done listening (check out my snapchat story for that). Later, we took an hour or so to play at the dinosaur play-place in the mall. We don’t do that a lot because I don’t like to feel as if I’m in charge of every kid that doesn’t seem to have any parents watching them. There was a little incident with a little girl that would NOT leave Lewi and his friend alone, throwing her little purse at them and getting mad if they picked it up.. such drama! 🙂 If only that was the extent of drama they’d have to deal with in real life..
Anyway, we then walked around and Lewi decided to be a little whiny when we’d stop walking, which is completely normal! He gets cranky while we shop, but it’s very usual for toddler expression. Sometimes they get mad for no reason, but you just have to deal. That’s what parenting is all about. It just got me thinking to one unfortunate experience we had a department store in the mall a couple months back.
Our mission was to find dress shoes for J. We decided to check out the department stores before going to the shop that specializes in men’s footwear for professional and dressy shoes. So, in one of the department stores, Lewi threw one of the largest tantrums we’d ever experienced with him. He was just barely 15 months old, and hadn’t really comprehended how to listen yet. Getting his way was now down to a science, and when the gagging started he knew we were in trouble.
He’d had a terrible cough and cold in the weeks before and would sometimes cough until he puked. Knowing that we jumped at the sound of a gag, he’d decided to make himself gag on cue whenever he didn’t like the situation he was in. This made for a terrible month or two of going out in public.
Anyway, his incident in the department store started as every incident before. He didn’t want to be in his stroller.. He wanted to run around and be very naughty, while J was asking my opinion on different styles. As we were deciding on a pair, I was putting Lew back in his stroller and as a first time mom, I was completely mortified of his behavior. I apologized for his outbursts to one of the employees and she replied, “I guess, when I have kids, I won’t be taking them in public.” Yeah. That was really what she said to me.
We don’t shop there anymore. Justin put his shoes back and went to the expensive shoe store to find a pair. Sorry, not sorry. I hate that I apologized for Lew being a toddler. That is what I’m more embarrassed about. Despite Lewi’s horrible behavior, it was me apologizing that was foolish.
Looking back, I’m glad I now know that there is nothing wrong with a toddler throwing a tantrum. There are more problems with the childless individuals that think they know everything, and judge you for having kids. Too bad that attitude never gets any baby snuggles.
Okay, enough of that story. The Easter season is upon us, so I have decided to put a few dress options together for you! They’re all under $60 and in the trending pink/blush color of the season! All five are church appropriate as well. I know that is something that is important to me when I’m looking for Easter dresses!

I hope you found something you like!
Have you ever had or witnessed a horrible toddler tantrum!? Let me know in the comments!
