It’s Friday!!
I hope you’ve all had a fantastic week, and have some fun plans for the weekend! I am not one of those people, as we have funeral this weekend.
We lost my great-great grandma on Tuesday, Lewi was her first and only great-great-great grandchild. It’s very rare that you get to see six generations, but she made it through with grace. A very lovely lady who will be dearly missed.
On Sunday, I get to enjoy brunch and wine at a painting party with my momma, so that’s a plus! A nice way to kick into Daylight’s Saving, am I right?
Yesterday, I shared some of my results from the Arbonne cleanse (see that post here) and took a day off from sharing some fashion. Today, I am back at it with a sweet denim dress that I can’t wait to rock all spring and summer!

I’m really vibing on this off-the-shoulder trend, but it looks sort of funny on my body. I’ve figured out (particularly from my “after” photos yesterday) that it is due to having really bad posture, so I am going to start doing some strength exercises to nix that bad habit! I’m excited to see the difference in the way clothes drape on my body with that small adjustment. It seems that it’s been an issue I’ve had since my pre-teens!
(I’m literally doing one of the poses as I type and can already say it is very uncomfortable.. uh-oh)
Alright to the post, I love this dress. The denim is more of a chambray and sooooo breezy! The fabric is lightweight and soft. Plus, denim is so in right now, so you should do yourself a favor and get a couple pieces while it’s on your mind, you’ll thank me later!
One thing I really really like about this dress is that it comes in petite! I’m so sick of having to worry about length of sleeves and waist in clothes. I appreciate that Express has finally come out with a petite line!
You wouldn’t have to wear a belt with this particular dress. It looks great as a trapeze style silhouette, but my frame always requires a built-in or manipulated waist to even out my larger chest. (eye roll) I’ll probably wear a thin belt with it the next time I wear it to give more moving room.
Anyway, this look would be so perfect for brunch or a spring/summer day out with the girls. It’s so girly and fun! Pairing a block heel with any look makes it functional for running errands as you won’t be worrying about swollen or sore feet! I LOVE block heels, especially since I have NO tone or leg definition anymore. (weep)
I hope you all have a great weekend, and I would really like to know your opinion on whether or not I should start a weekly recipe for lent! (not even Catholic, but feeding two Catholic boys…) Let me know in the comments!
xo, Tay
