Good Morning, readers!
I guess you could say, TGIF!? I’m a little bummed this morning as I was woken up before the sunrise with a goodbye kiss from my hubby as he left for yet another work trip. I don’t know how the wives’ of traveling men do it! I get so depressed every time J leaves and wish we could just go with him everywhere!
Well, on another note. I am still living in my favorite Levi’s! Seriously, you guys. I love them so much! They go with everything and make me feel so confident. That’s how I know they were the right buy for me.
Let’s talk about date night!
Sometimes mom and dad don’t get to go out on a fancy date, but rather something very casual like bowling or a movie. For these cozy/casual dates, I like to keep it comfy and fun! It’s so nice to know I’ll be comfortable all night and won’t have to worry about constantly fidgeting around with a piece I’m not quite as confident wearing.
These kind of dates are really my favorite. Sure, we talk about the things we always talk about at home, but this time we are taking the conversation to a different location. To me, that changes the entire sentiment of your story. Maybe you had a long day doing laundry and picking up your living room every twenty minutes, but just getting out of the house seems to rid the stress almost immediately! Sometimes the little things make it so much easier to cope with the stress of everyday life.
Alright, now let’s get to what to wear on your casual date night!
Tank: Express | Jeans: Levi’s (also here) | Scarf: Express | Slide Ons: Proper & Prim (also here) | Fedora: ASOS | Clutch: Coach old (similar here & here) | Earrings: Forever 21 | Bracelets: similar here & here
Let’s start with this tank.
I ordered this tank top from Express a couple months ago. I actually got it in two different colors, and this one isn’t even my favorite of the two! I really enjoy the material. It’s so soft and has a lot of drape to it, so it blows beautifully in the wind. I know there is no need for that, but I really love the jersey/cotton feel to it! Also, the color struck a bad chord in me when I initially opened the package because I was expecting a light dusty rose/dull quartz color. This is more purple than pink, but I really have grown to love it! It’s not visible with my scarf in the way, but this top also has a really fun neckline. It will save you from wearing a necklace, and who doesn’t love that?
You already know my loving relationship with these denim champions, so I won’t bore you with my affection. ๐
I got these slides from a local boutique in downtown Fargo called Proper & Prim. I love this boutique. Seriously, it’s not as mainstream as say, Kittsona (another local boutique), but they have the most whimsical selection of trends to choose from! The shop also flows into a super colorful decor boutique (O’day Cache) that I am dying to furnish my home with! They have one other location in downtown Minneapolis, MN. You’re not able to order their items from their website, but if you have Instagram and live in the surrounding area, you can ask them to hold anything in the store in your size! They may also ship from your inquiries, but I’m not positive if they do. They share new looks daily on Insta.
Anyway, I saw these slides on Proper’s Instagram and went in a couple days later to find they had my size! Guys, they’re only $16 in store. I did link the brand site of the shoes, and you can purchase them directly from there. They are more expensive from the site though ($23). They’re such fun shoes with the little frayed bow detail. Slides or mules are also very on trend at the moment, so these were a great buy!
I got this “clutch,” that’s really a crossbody without the strap attached a couple years ago. It’s Coach brand. Have you seen the newest Coach designs? They’re really making a comeback, especially with Emma Roberts being their newest spokesmodel! I absolutely love the print and size of this bag. Plus, leopard print clutches are super in right now. They obviously don’t still sell this style, so I link a couple similar styles for under $50. Trends are more fun to try without spending very much. ๐
Overall, I love this look and could probably wear it as my daily uniform. I won’t.. but I will probably wear some variation of it once a week until it’s too hot for pants. It’s just the perfect combination for a casual date night and I can’t wait for Justin to be home long enough to enjoy one!
I hope you have a great weekend! Snuggle your loved ones and enjoy Palm Sunday with the kiddos! Hopefully you don’t get hit too many times with a palm branch. ๐
xo, Tay
