Good Morning!
It’s Thursday and time for my weekly update. I would just like to start this post by telling you how I have summer-fever like never before!
I can’t wait to get to the lake and take the boat out on the water! We are lake people. That’s one thing that I always keep in mind when looking for my new year selection of swimsuits!
I think it’s important to get at least one new swimsuit every year. In my case, I think I’ll need three! 🙂
First off, your body changes a little every year. This could be due to the maturing factor or for reasons only specific to you! Maybe you had some kind of major surgery, or I don’t know.. pushed a human out of your body. Maybe you’re growing a sweet little bundle as we speak! Whatever your reason, your body has changed in the last year, and so have trends.
Girl, you’re in need of a new swimsuit! And so is your significant other, probably. That’s the way to get the suit you want. Tell your guy that you think he needs a new pair of shorts or trunks and you’re golden. 🙂
Single? No fret. Treat yo’ self.
Okay, so back to the ideas I keep in mind when looking for the right style swimsuit.
As I mentioned before, we Magees are lake people. We spend every weekend we can either on the lake that’s close to where we both grew up or on one of the 10,000 lakes of MN. We are particularly on the quaint lake where Justin’s grandparents have owned their cabin for the past 50 years. My aunt and uncle have recently (in the last 5 years) settled in a nearby cabin on a bigger lake, that we also like to visit.
When we’re out on the water in our boat, you can find us water skiing (really that’s Justin’s thing, he’s really good and only uses one ski), knee boarding (this is where I excel), wake boarding (Justin is a pro, I am barely an amateur), and tubing. If we’re not on the boat, you can catch us kayaking, paddle boarding, in the paddle boat, or fishing. Last year, all Justin wanted for Father’s Day was a day on the lake to fish by himself. He got it, I stayed in the cabin and binged on fruit.
With all these activities to keep in mind, I need a suit that is going to keep me in place and look appropriate at the lake. Since the lake isn’t too fancy, I don’t need anything too frivolous. Also, we’re constantly surrounded by family, so I’m always keeping in my mind to dress my age and appropriately for grandma!
After having Lewi, I have come to the conclusion that my style has changed. I no longer feel comfortable in a bikini or two-piece swimsuit. I need a little more coverage and find that I feel more confident in a one-piece style. Luckily for me, one-pieces are hot. No longer are the days where one-pieces are boring and unflattering!
I decided to check out one of my favorite swimsuit sites (www.everythingbutwater.com), and found the 5 best fits for my body, age and summer life. Swimsuits can tend to get expensive, so I limited my budget to $150. None of the suits I selected exceeded $130 and almost all of them come in plus-sizing, so there is a size for everyone!
|one • two • three • four • five|
Each of these suits has the coverage I need, but also has a strong confidence presence in the design.
If a couple of the designs look similar to you, you’re not wrong. Three of the five selections are by the same designer, and I think they are my top three favorites!
I hope you enjoyed this post. If you’re in the market for a new swimsuit, but don’t know where to start looking let me know either in the comments or shoot me an email with your questions and I’ll help you out!
Have a spectacular week,
xo Tay
